As someone who taught college-level logic courses for 20 years, I will say that “The Power of Logic” is an excellent college-level logic text, one of the best I’ve encountered. It covers a wide range of topics, including informal fallacies and categorical syllogisms, propositional logic, predicate logic, induction, and probability. The book discusses all these topics in an easy-to-understand style. In addition, there are copious examples and exercises to help the student understand the material. An answer key in the back gives the correct responses to selected exercises. This text is quite similar in what it covers to the Patrick Hurley introductory logic text.
